Small Enough to Be Known.

Becoming their own
Middle school is where the investment in Cross pays off. The friendships are deep. The faith is becoming their own. The teachers know exactly when something's wrong, and so do the other students. This is where the relational model you've been building since Pre-K delivers its most powerful results.
If you're thinking about whether to stay or go, here's what families who stayed want you to know...
WhY Families stay through Middle school

11 student Safety Net
In a class of 11 students, nothing goes unnoticed, and no one goes unsupported.
"We have a small class. We only have 11 kids. If someone's upset, we all immediately pretty much know. We'll either tell a teacher or we'll go and sit with them."

Depth over breadth
Yes, the class is small. But these students know each other in a way that a class of 200 never will. They've been through things together. They hold each other accountable. They show up for each other, not because a teacher told them to, but because that's the culture they've grown up in.
"We're all brothers and sisters through God."

Unique Expereinces
Handbell choir. Veterans Day multigenerational programs. Student-led service. These aren't resume builders. They're character builders.
"She learned handbell here, something she'd never encountered before."

When life gets hard, cross stays steady
The most powerful stories we heard across all 21 interviews weren't about academics or activities. They were about what happens when a family is in crisis, and the school becomes the one thing that doesn't change. Cross middle school isn't just an education. It's an anchor.
"When their personal life is blowing up, I did not want the school environment to change as well. They rallied around my children."
-Cross Parent
Faith Becomes their own

In elementary, children learn about faith. In middle school, they start to own it. Students choose confirmation, not because they're told to, but because they want to.
This is the age where faith stops being something parents pass on and becomes something students carry forward. Cross gives them the environment to make that transition authentically.

She was confirmed here. She didn't have to. She wanted to.

What about sports?
This is the most common question, and the answer may surprise you.
- Every student plays. Every game. At a larger school, a great athlete can ride the bench for four years. At Cross, students are in the starting lineup, developing because they're on the field, not watching from the sideline.
- Alumni coaches invest back. Cross alumni have returned to coach basketball. They're coaching because of their relationship with this school, not in spite of it.
- Cross competes on character, not just championships. For most families, when they really think about what they want from youth athletics, it's participation, growth, and growing up well. That's exactly where Cross excels.

Parents ask: "Will my child be ready?"
The answer is yes, and here's the proof.
Cross graduates thrive at Grace Prep, public high schools, San Marcos Academy, and Cross's own High School Hybrid program. One current 8th grader who came from public school with ADD and dyslexia is heading to San Marcos with confidence and years of honor roll behind her. A K–8 alumna, is thriving in public high school with her Cross foundation.
We don't prepare students for one path. We prepare them for their path.
"You can make really good friendships here, and it just feels really good."
