A Stephen Ministry Congregation

From the Principal: August 2022

by Corey Brandenburger on August 01, 2022

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.  And behold I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20, ESV).  Our theme verse for the 2022-2023 school year is appropriate!  As we prepare for students and teachers to return to campus, there is still much to do.  Our theme for the year is “Building God’s Kingdom”.  Of course, we know that God builds His kingdom, and in Jesus, His kingdom has come to us!  We also know that God continues to gift His people with the tools to expand His kingdom as we share His saving love with all people.  As a congregation, our school ministry is grounded by our mission: One in Christ. One in Ministry. One in Mission.  As a congregation, we know the powerful tool that a Lutheran school can be in sharing the Gospel.  As we unpack God’s toolkit this year, we know that our students, teachers, staff, and families will be blessed by the daily attendance to God’s good words to us, his dearly loved children!

This year, Cross Lutheran Church and School will be welcoming our largest student body ever—perhaps even more than 250 students!  We are thrilled to have the opportunity to share Jesus with such a diverse and growing student body.  As the principal, I am grateful for the office staff and teaching staff for their continued efforts to sustain and grow our school ministry.  Without all of these amazing people, Cross would not be the shining example of Christ’s love in action that it is today.  Your support of the people in ministry at Cross means your support of the mission of Cross as well.  As we strive to ensure that people see how Christ is Building God’s Kingdom in our midst, we are grateful for your help in making disciples of all nations—right here in New Braunfels.

As we put the final touches on ordering text books, making sure technology is up-to-date, classrooms are staffed, and all the things we need to do for another amazing year of school ministry, we rest sure in the knowledge that Jesus Christ is the Master Carpenter Build God’s Kingdom!  We’re looking forward to a new year with new challenges and joys, and we’re excited and encouraged by your partnership in the Gospel.

Blessings,

Dr. B.
